Job title: Design Engineer
About the Role Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a Design Engineer for our New Innovation Center in Nuevo Leon. You will work with cross-functional teams to support product engineering projects within a structured design/development process. Your design work will support our continuous improvement and cost reduction plans to improve the health of our business.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product engineers to develop design specifications and drawings to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
- Support design engineering on assigned projects
- Support teams in problem solving and failure analysis
- Support team to ensure robust designs are delivered
- Actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products
- Continuously improving processes, skills, team environment and tools necessary to achieve FBIN product leadership strategy
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
- Fully bilingual; minimum of 3 years of experience to include design engineering (CAD)
- Experience with 3-D Parametric Solid Modeling (SolidWorks is a plus)
- Collaborative problem solving techniques for geometric dimensioning and tolerances
- Analysis of component / assembly tolerance stack-ups
- Written and verbal communication skills for dealing with multiple levels of staff, customers and suppliers
- Time management, prioritization & analytical problem solving
- Adaptable, able to adjust to ongoing changes and improvements
- Self-motivated and collaborative
Nice to Have
- SolidWorks experience is a plus
