About the Role SEIU Local 2015 Deputy Statewide Field Director (Northern California) provides strategic leadership and oversight of Regional Directors and field operations across Northern California. The role partners with the Statewide Field Director to design and execute the Local’s strategic plan, ensuring organizing, bargaining, membership growth, political mobilization, and leadership development are coordinated and outcome-driven. The ideal candidate must reside in Northern California and possess deep knowledge of the regional political, economic, and labor landscape. What You'll Do

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and strategic coaching to Northern California Regional Directors.
  • Develop Regional Directors’ capacity in strategic thinking, campaign planning, execution discipline, and accountability systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex representational, bargaining, or political challenges within regions; provide interim regional leadership coverage as needed.
  • Guide Regional Directors in developing industry-specific, action-based campaigns aligned with statewide bargaining goals; ensure regional implementation of bargaining strategies across IHSS, Nursing Home, and Private Agency sectors; monitor regional bargaining outcomes to ensure measurable improvements in wages, standards, and member engagement.
  • In partnership with the Organizing Director and Regional Directors, lead strategic organizing campaigns targeting represented and unrepresented Long-Term Care workers in Northern California.
  • In collaboration with the Membership Director, drive membership retention, engagement, and density goals. What We're Looking For
  • Must reside in Northern California and have deep knowledge of the regional political, economic, and labor landscape.
  • Experience leading field operations, supervising Regional Directors, and coordinating campaigns.
  • Strong background in organizing, bargaining, political mobilization, and leadership development.
  • Ability to design and implement campaign plans and ensure accountability systems.
  • Experience with cross-departmental collaboration and strategic planning. Nice to Have
  • Experience in the Long-Term Care sector (IHSS, Nursing Home, Private Agency) and union organizing in this field.
