The opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Dean, you will drive the development and delivery of the faculty's learning and teaching plans, educational activities and teaching quality. As a driving force behind implementation of the Our Education pillar of the FSE Strategy 2026–2030, you will turn its priorities into tangible actions and results by leading initiatives that raise teaching standards, enrich the student experience and strengthen graduate outcomes.
As a member of the Faculty Executive, you will build strong, collaborative relationships with Heads of School and Research Departments, Directors of Education, Course Directors, fellow Deputy Deans, Associate Deans, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President portfolios, working together to advance the University's educational mission and elevate the student experience and graduate employability. Specifically, you will:
- drive the development and delivery of the faculty's learning and teaching plans, educational activities and teaching quality
- lead implementation of the Our Education pillar of the FSE Strategy 2026–2030, turning priorities into tangible actions and results
- lead initiatives that raise teaching standards, enrich the student experience and strengthen graduate outcomes
- build strong, collaborative relationships with Heads of School and Research Departments, Directors of Education, Course Directors, fellow Deputy Deans, Associate Deans, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President portfolios
- work together to advance the University's educational mission and elevate the student experience and graduate employability.

You are a senior academic leader with a deep understanding of undergraduate and postgraduate education and a genuine commitment to student outcomes in a STEM environment. You bring a clear vision for the future of education and the proven ability to turn that vision into strategy and initiatives that make a real difference for diverse student cohorts.
Your credibility is built on an outstanding record in teaching and research. You pair this with real strategic delivery: identifying, building and sustaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and using superior negotiation and influencing skills to bring people together and move an agenda forward.
Above all, you are a collegial and inspiring leader. You mentor teams to achieve strategic and operational goals, contribute actively to building the institution, and nurture positive, collaborative relationships with faculty and institutional colleagues.
