Build on a legacy of excellence. The Architect of the Capitol is seeking an accomplished and visionary professional to serve as Deputy Architect. This is an opportunity to help guide an organization entrusted with supporting the historic facilities, grounds, and architectural environment of the United States Capitol complex.

The Deputy Architect will work closely with senior leadership to advance the Architect of the Capitol’s mission, strengthen operational effectiveness, and support the long-term stewardship of nationally significant facilities. The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across a complex federal environment.

This position serves at the pleasure of the Architect. This position is eligible for direct hire.

Position Duties

• Support the Architect of the Capitol in setting strategic priorities and achieving organizational goals.
• Provide leadership and oversight for architectural, engineering, construction, facilities, and related operational activities.
• Promote effective stewardship, preservation, maintenance, and improvement of the Capitol complex.
• Coordinate with internal offices, congressional stakeholders, partner agencies, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure that projects and programs are managed with a focus on quality, accountability, efficiency, safety, and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Advise senior leadership on complex issues, emerging risks, resource needs, and opportunities for improvement.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace committed to public service.
