Job title: Dean of Workforce Education
About the Role The Dean of Workforce Education provides leadership and coordination within the Workforce Education Division, planning and coordinating all aspects of workforce education programs and departments to align with the college's mission. The role includes overseeing curriculum and program development, enhancing instructional effectiveness, and supporting workforce instructional programs in accordance with Laredo College policies. The Dean leads initiatives in Career and Technical Education programs, non-credit program alignment, and builds industry partnerships to expand student placement opportunities. The Dean supervises multiple departments and reports to the Associate Provost.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of workforce education programs and departments within the division, ensuring alignment with the college's mission.
- Oversee curriculum and program development and enhance the educational effectiveness of assigned instructional areas.
- Ensure compliance with Laredo College District policies and procedures to help students achieve their educational objectives.
- Lead exploration, development, implementation, and evaluation of Career and Technical Education programs, including collaborative non-credit program alignment and related initiatives.
- Build industry partnerships to keep programs relevant and expand placement opportunities for students.
- Supervise the departments listed: Business Management, Camilo Prada Center, Child Development, Computer Sciences and Technology, Construction and Industrial Technologies, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Global Logistics Center, Protective Services, Regional Law Enforcement Academy, Transportation Technology, and the Carl D. Perkins CTE Improvement Grant.

- Knowledge of and adherence to district policies and procedures; commitment to helping students meet educational objectives.
- Experience with Career and Technical Education programs and cross-department collaboration; familiarity with non-credit program alignment.
- Strong ability to build and maintain industry partnerships to ensure program relevance and job opportunities for graduates.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience over multiple departments, staff, and partnerships; ability to work with the Associate Provost and Provost.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Grant or related grant management.
- Background in non-credit program development and industry partnership initiatives.
