Job title: Dealer Relationship Manager - Automotive Finance
About the Role This role contributes to the profitable growth of the Prime and Scotia Dealer Advantage portfolios by developing new and maintaining existing Dealer and Manufacturer Indirect Retail business, aligning with the portfolio’s business strategies and objectives within Scotiabank’s Automotive Finance group. It focuses on building dealer relationships, executing targeted marketing and business development activities, and ensuring effective processes and controls.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute a marketing/calling program within the assigned market area of dealers to reach business development targets by managing the volume, flow and yield of the dealer loan applications/sales pipeline, and maintaining effective follow-up with existing dealers while deepening awareness of Scotiabank’s value proposition.
- Ensure dealers receive ongoing attention to achieve satisfaction and to maintain, improve, grow and retain the relationship by staying current on the business line’s products, services, systems, processes and skills as per Scotiabank and Automotive Finance requirements.
- Manage work processes and expectations in accordance with the Seller Behavior Expectations, achieving minimum standards for partner and non-partner dealers.
- Implement and support ongoing customer education on Scotiabank’s processes, policies and best practices to assist Dealers to increase efficiency and proficiency when submitting paperwork.
- Maintain knowledge on bank cross-sell and joint call opportunities to maintain, improve, grow and retain the relationship.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, including ensuring operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk controls.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including guidelines for the Business Conduct.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of a post-secondary education (college or university) and/or equivalent business experience preferred.
- 5 years of auto retail sales.
- Strong verbal and written communicator and proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
- Knowledge of business-related computer software, specifically Excel.
