Job title: DC Manager - Berlin (m/f/x)
About the Role The Berlin Datacenter Manager will lead the DC Operations in Berlin, ensuring the continuity of datacenter services and coordinating with French and Limburg teams to launch and operate the new Berlin data centers. Reporting to the Regional DC Manager Europe, you will manage a team of technicians and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable and compliant infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Manage datacenter teams; train, mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams; supervise the DC IT, Infrastructure, and Stock teams
- Organize the site’s business continuity (on-call workers, crisis mode) and ensure health and safety regulations are respected
- Participate in recruiting datacenter teams and organize workload and recruitment plans
- Manage and coordinate datacenter operations; ensure infrastructure is kept active (electricity, cooling, monitoring technologies, security systems, optical fiber)
- Manage maintenance contracts; coordinate interventions with external providers; maintain strong relationships with providers
- Oversee service compliance; ensure documentation on DC operations is available; perform audits (27001/SOC/PCI DSS) in collaboration with dedicated teams
- Monitor and report KPIs; report monthly on DC infrastructure; manage the infrastructure budget; handle site administration (invoices, contracts, reports)
- Collaborate with project teams and colocation provider for datacenter extensions; maintain relationships with local authorities and ensure regulatory compliance
- Organize and carry out datacenter visits for customers; ensure SLAs are upheld and drive operational improvement
- Identify and manage problems impacting security, reliability or maintainability; drive continuous improvement and risk analysis with corrective/preventive actions
- Contribute to prototypes and communicate with R&D to improve the product; help improve procedures and moderate team suggestions
What We're Looking For
- Technical: Very good knowledge of datacenter infrastructures; IT hardware and networks; advanced knowledge of maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and operational techniques; familiarity with security and regulatory requirements
- Experience with operations management tools (budget, reporting, etc.)
- Language: Fluency in German and English
- Leadership: Able to build and lead teams; rigorous, analytical; strong organizational skills; able to work under pressure; approachable and hands-on; sense of responsibility
- Experience: 5 years’ higher studies in infrastructure management; 5/10 years’ experience in a position of responsibility in an industrial environment; interest and skills in the IT sector
