About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to own and operate our Snowflake data platform. This role supports the data pipelines that feed Snowflake, which in turn power data and reporting presented directly to our customers within our products. The role is primarily focused on Snowflake platform administration and data engineering — account management, performance/cost optimization, data pipelines (dbt, Fivetran), and the overall health of the platform — with security, access governance, and cloud/DevOps responsibilities as a supporting part of the job.

You'll work closely with platform and product engineering teams and cloud operations to ensure the pipelines and Snowflake environment behind our customer-facing product data are scalable, performant, and reliable.

What You'll Do

• Snowflake Platform & Data Engineering (primary focus)

• Administer and maintain multiple Snowflake accounts, including account-level configuration, org structure, and cross-account governance

• Own Snowflake performance and cost: warehouse sizing, resource monitors, query tuning, and storage optimization

• Manage Snowflake platform changes via infrastructure-as-code where applicable (e.g., Terraform, Snowflake CLI/SQL scripts) and change management processes

• Support and maintain Fivetran connectors for data ingestion from SaaS applications, databases, and APIs

• Support and lightly maintain dbt models (staging, intermediate, mart layers) that feed data into product-facing Snowflake datasets

• Troubleshoot pipeline and transformation issues, including those that intersect with platform-level access or performance, to protect the reliability of data presented to customers

• Integrate Snowflake and pipeline health (job failures, data freshness, query performance) into the team's observability stack for centralized monitoring and alerting

• Contribute to runbooks and postmortems for platform and pipeline incidents

• Security, Access & Cloud/DevOps (supporting focus)

• Own Snowflake security: role-based access control (RBAC) design, object/data-level permissions, network policies, and data masking

• Manage user access lifecycle — provisioning, de-provisioning, role assignment, and periodic access reviews

• Configure and maintain SSO integration for Snowflake authentication via Microsoft Entra ID, working with the identity/security team as needed

• Apply general cloud SRE/DevOps practices to the data platform — mainly AWS, with some exposure to Azure and OCI — covering IAM, networking/connectivity, monitoring integration, and infrastructure-as-code

• Own access certification and periodic access review cycles for Snowflake, producing evidence for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II audits where the underlying product requires it

• Maintain audit logging retention and usage/query history analysis to support security investigations and compliance requirements

• Partner with the compliance/security team on control evidence, remediation tracking, and audit responses specific to the data platform

• What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform administration, with hands-on production experience running Snowflake (account management, performance tuning, cost management)

• Working knowledge of dbt and Fivetran (or comparable ELT tools) for building and troubleshooting data pipelines

• Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data warehousing concepts

• Working knowledge of Git-based version control and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Comfort integrating platform/pipeline monitoring into a centralized observability tool

• General cloud SRE/DevOps experience, mainly AWS with some exposure to Azure and OCI, applied to a data platform (IAM, networking, monitoring, automation)

• Practical experience with user access management and SSO configuration for a SaaS/cloud platform (Entra ID/Azure AD experience a plus)

• Familiarity with audit/compliance processes (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) — access reviews, evidence gathering, control documentation

• Good communication skills — comfortable working with product/platform engineering and security stakeholders

• Nice to Have

• Experience with Amazon QuickSight or similar BI/visualization tools

• Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools for managing cloud/data platform resources

• Experience with Python or equivalent for automation/scripting

• Experience working in a multi-cloud environment (AWS primary, with Azure and/or OCI)

• SnowPro Core or Administrator certification

• Background or experience with GRC, compliance, or security-conscious SaaS environments
