About the Role Databricks is building the next-generation Lakehouse query engine and storage layer that unifies data warehousing and advanced analytics. You will work on developing a decoupled query engine that delivers relational performance while supporting Spark-like expressiveness for ETL, data science, and ML workloads.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement the next-generation query engine and structured storage systems capable of outperforming traditional data warehouses while retaining general-purpose feasibility.
- Contribute to query compilation and optimization, distributed query execution and scheduling, and the vectorized execution engine.
- Improve data security, resource management, and transactional coordination.
- Build and optimize storage structures and automatic physical data optimization.
