Database Developer

Apex Systems is hiring a Database Developer for a large Healthcare client.

Location: Downey, CA (Remote local to this area).

Role Overview

This position supports a critical data transmission modernization initiative driven by upcoming regulatory standards. The chosen specialist will join an established team to contribute immediately to SQL development and maintenance activities. This high-visibility project offers a long-term engagement supporting a major modernization effort with minimal onsite requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize robust database code to support data transmission standards.

• Perform detailed data analysis and troubleshooting to resolve complex database issues.

• Interpret business and technical requirements to deliver high-quality database solutions.

• Collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

• Quickly learn the existing database environment and code base to contribute with minimal ramp-up time.

• Maintain strong attention to detail while working within a highly regulated environment.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience: Proven experience working extensively within existing SQL code bases and collaborating with technical teams.

• Technical Skills

• Strong, hands-on Oracle SQL development experience, including the ability to read, modify, and optimize complex SQL queries.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within healthcare or pharmacy environments.

• Familiarity with industry-specific standards, such as NCPDP.

• Hands-on experience with PL/SQL development.
