About this role
**🧭 About Inallmedia.com: Inallmedia.com is a global technology and design firm focused on building impactful digital solutions through remote, distributed teams across LATAM. We partner with international clients across industries, providing long-term technical expertise, product innovation, and team augmentation.
Our teams work on high-scale platforms that require strong engineering ownership, business alignment, and measurable product impact.
🚀 Project Overview (Application Database Ecosystem): You will join a fast-paced product development environment focused on building and scaling robust production applications. As an Application Database Engineer, your mission is to bridge the gap between application development and database infrastructure, ensuring that our data structures seamlessly support evolving software features.
This role requires a deep understanding of how data moves through application services and APIs. You will be responsible for designing schemas, integrating relational and document-based databases, and tuning performance to resolve data quality and consistency issues. By collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, you will ensure our data models are highly optimized, secure, and ready for continuous delivery.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database / Application Engineer to serve as the critical bridge between our database infrastructure and application development teams. The company operates a mature, established technology ecosystem that requires a seasoned professional—reminiscent of a classic database developer—who deeply understands how applications interact with databases.
You will be responsible for designing and modifying data models, writing high-performance database code, and ensuring that APIs read from and write to our relational and document databases efficiently and safely. You will work within a stable enterprise environment, collaborating directly with backend and frontend engineering teams to support application features from the data layer up.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modeling & Design: Design, modify, and optimize data models specifically for production applications, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Database Development: Create and manage complex relational tables in MS SQL Server and document structures in MongoDB.
- Query & Performance Optimization: Work extensively with SQL Server to write, tune, and troubleshoot complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and indexing strategies.
- API Integration Support: Bridge the gap between the database and the backend, ensuring a deep understanding of how APIs securely and efficiently read/write data.
- Safe Schema Management: Plan and execute database schema changes safely within an existing, live, and mature application ecosystem without causing disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with backend and legacy frontend developers to architect data solutions that support both new application features and existing integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive
Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering, application data architecture, or backend development with a heavy emphasis on database layer design.
- SQL Server Mastery: Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, specifically in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, query execution plans, and performance tuning.
- NoSQL Proficiency: Proven experience working with document-based databases, specifically MongoDB.
- Application Architecture Understanding: Strong comprehension of web application architecture, API integrations, and how backend code interacts with databases.
- Enterprise Environment
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to work within mature, established codebases and conservative technology stacks.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Certifications: Microsoft SQL Server Certifications (e.g., MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development, DP-300, or legacy equivalents) are highly regarded.
-
Legacy Tech Familiarity: Understanding of the architectural concepts and constraints of older web frameworks (such as early Angular, Backbone) to better support the frontend/backend teams.
-
Hybrid Background: Previous roles as a Database Developer, Backend Engineer (DB heavy), or Application DBA. 🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills
-
Azure Cloud Data: Experience with the Azure data stack, specifically Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Microsoft Fabric.
-
Pipeline Support: Experience supporting broader data pipelines in addition to core application database development.
-
Python Scripting: Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or limited pipeline support.
-
JavaScript Ecosystem: Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, or Joi. 🌐 Time Zone & Collaboration:** The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to Central Time (CT), USA. Candidates must overlap at least 4–5 hours daily with US-based stakeholders to ensure seamless architectural alignment and agile collaboration.
