Job Description

As a Data Scientist Sr. Associate within the Consumer Bank Marketing Analytics team, you will be at the center of understanding what drives account opening performance across checking, savings, and certificates of deposit (CDs). You will own high-visibility reporting and analysis that helps senior leaders understand results, identify performance drivers, and make informed decisions. Your work will be shared weekly with the CEO and her leadership team and discussed in the monthly Business Review, giving your insights direct exposure at the highest levels of the organization.

Job responsibilities

  • Own daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on account openings across checking, savings, and CDs, with results benchmarked against budget, prior periods, and other relevant performance targets
  • Develop clear, scalable views of performance that explain what changed, where it changed, and the factors driving the result
  • Continuously improve reporting workflows, data latency, analytical depth, and stakeholder deliverables by applying automation and the latest AI-enabled tools
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses that evaluate the impact of business initiatives and investigate open-ended questions about account-opening performance
  • Synthesize structured and unstructured analysis into concise explanations of performance drivers, implications, and recommended next steps
  • Partner with business, finance, product, marketing, and data teams to align definitions, validate results, and connect performance trends to business activity
  • Present findings to senior executives and other stakeholders, responding confidently to follow-up questions and translating technical analysis into business-relevant insights
  • Maintain a rigorous controls environment to ensure reporting and analysis are accurate, timely, well-documented, and reproducible

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience using data and analytical methods to solve complex business problems and explain performance outcomes
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL and at least one of the following: SAS, Python, or R
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate analysis and code development
  • Experience building, automating, and maintaining recurring reporting with strong attention to data quality, controls, and reproducibility
  • Strong analytical judgment and intellectual curiosity, including the ability to move from an open-ended question to a structured approach and defensible conclusion
  • Experience using data visualization techniques to communicate trends, comparisons, and performance drivers clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior executives and cross-functional partners
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to deliver recurring reporting on schedule while advancing ad hoc analyses and workflow improvements

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science/Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field)
  • Experience analyzing consumer deposit products, account-opening performance, or related acquisition and portfolio trends
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting or business reviews in a fast-paced, highly visible environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify meaningful performance drivers across products, channels, customer segments, geographies, or initiatives
  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort partnering with business, finance, product, marketing, and data stakeholders
  • Experience with Tableau or a comparable business intelligence and visualization platform
