Data Scientist, Actuary & Quant

About the Role You play a central role in the design, development and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions, driving innovation and automation within Belfius Banque. You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to leverage cloud-based AI services, generative AI and scalable ML infrastructure, ensuring AI models are robust, ethical and aligned with business goals. What You'll Do

• Development of AI/ML solutions: Deploy ML and DL models (including Generative AI) to solve complex business problems; optimize models for performance, scalability and profitability in Azure cloud; implement MLOps pipelines for training, validation and deployment.
• Cloud and AI infrastructure: Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure on Azure platform using services such as Azure ML and AKS; ensure secure, compliant and highly available AI deployments in the cloud.
• Generative AI and innovation: Explore and integrate generative AI models (LLMs, etc.) for applications such as RAG (Real Agile Agile), intelligent document processing, transcription and conversational AI; anticipate AI trends and propose innovative use cases.
• Data governance and model governance: Ensure data quality, bias reduction and adherence to AI ethics; implement monitoring and explainability tools to track performance and compliance.
• Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with product teams, data scientists and business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities; translate business needs into AI solutions and communicate results effectively. What We're Looking For
• A master or PhD in sciences with excellent academic results in technical fields (econometrics, computer science, AI, etc.). Strong ML techniques expertise and willingness to keep knowledge up to date; deep knowledge of algorithms such as random forests, neural networks and reinforcement learning is essential. GenAI: rapid engineering, structured results, etc.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Excellent command of Dutch or French, with knowledge of the other language, and English.
• Experience in translating complex analyses for non-technical audiences via storytelling and data visualization.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technically and business-focused.
• A thirst for learning, not only to master new algorithms and technologies but also for relationship-building; you understand that value of your work lies in quality and acceptance, and you want to work on both.
• Nice to have: bilingualism (English and Dutch or French); experience in data product development from design to production; full-stack development skills; cloud knowledge, preferably Azure. Nice to Have
