Job title: Data Protection Specialist
About the Role The Data Protection Specialist will join the Group Legal team at BE-terna, part of Telefónica Tech, based in Madrid. The role focuses on the operational implementation of data protection across the BE-terna Group and coordinates selected compliance activities, serving as the main interface to the external Data Protection Officer (DPO).
What You'll Do
- Take responsibility for the operational implementation of data protection requirements across the BE-terna Group and act as the main interface to the external Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Develop and maintain key data protection processes (e.g. DPIAs, data breach management, records of processing activities)
- Advise management and business units on data protection requirements and risks
- Support audits and ensure the implementation of resulting measures
- Coordinate selected compliance topics and contribute to the development of a group-wide compliance framework
- Align with key stakeholders (Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Telefónica) and support risk assessments and awareness initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Several years of experience in data protection / privacy (ideally 5+ years)
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and relevant data protection laws
- Experience in the operational implementation of data protection requirements in a corporate environment
- Initial experience in compliance, governance or risk management is a plus
- Basic understanding of IT systems and cloud environments (e.g. Microsoft Azure)
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style with strong communication skills
- Very good Spanish and English skills. German is desirable
