Data Program Manager

About the Role At K&L Gates, we are seeking a Data Program Manager to oversee roadmaps, budgets, and timelines for enterprise data initiatives as a senior individual contributor. You will collaborate with engineering, analytics, AI, and business teams to ensure execution, manage dependencies, track metrics, and resolve blockers, delivering measurable value on time and within scope for our greenfield data and AI efforts. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Data Engineering and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. What You'll Do

• Own and maintain the roadmap for enterprise data programs, aligning with business priorities, data strategy, and the governed build-buy portfolio model.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of data initiatives, including scope definition, timeline management, risk mitigation, and coordination across engineering, analytics, and business partners.
• Plan, manage, and track program budgets, forecasts, and expenditures with transparent reporting to leadership.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate program success and translate outcomes into executive business impact narratives.
• Manage program visibility and delivery tracking in Azure DevOps, including portfolio dashboards, sprint board oversight, and work item reporting.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve delivery blockers and risks while proactively handling cross-team dependencies.
• Translate business needs into clear program plans and milestones, enabling governance processes and providing executive status updates.
• Demonstrate Enterprise Applications team philosophy, promoting processes, security, standards, and a knowledge-centered approach to support.
• Define and oversee testing strategies at the program level, including quality standards, user acceptance testing frameworks, and validation of business functions.
• Leverage AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to enhance quality, efficiency, and innovation in daily workflows.
• Contribute to the design, development, or maintenance of AI-driven solutions on the firm’s Microsoft platform stack within governance guidelines.
• Adhere to AI governance standards ensuring compliance with responsible use policies, data classification rules, and model deployment review procedures. What We're Looking For
• 4+ years managing complex, cross-functional programs or initiatives with roadmaps, budgets, and delivery timelines.
• Required: PMP (Project Management Professional). Recommended: PMI-ACP and AZ-900.
• Background in Business Administration, Project Management, Communications, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into functional program requirements, delivery milestones, and concise executive status updates.
• Ability to learn new technologies independently and work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and support scheduled release events with schedule flexibility.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to present technical concepts visually via diagramming and whiteboarding in a hybrid environment.
• 4+ years of experience collaborating with data, analytics, AI, or enterprise technology teams in a PM role.
• Experience with Agile, hybrid, or waterfall methodologies and proficiency using Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools in a professional engineering or enterprise setting. Nice to Have
• PMI-ACP and AZ-900 certifications (recommended).
• Additional experience with AI governance, data classification, or model deployment review procedures. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $112,000 - $209,000 per year. The compensation will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on experience, expertise, and market factors.
