We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Data Manager

Location: Lagos

Role Purpose

• The Data Manager is responsible for the governance, quality, integrity, security, accessibility and lifecycle management of technical subsurface and petroleum engineering data, ensuring that reliable information is available to support upstream studies, regulatory obligations and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical data-management standards, procedures, workflows and governance controls.

• Manage subsurface data including seismic, well, log, core, production, reservoir, interpretation and related technical datasets.

• Ensure accurate loading, indexing, classification, versioning, storage, retrieval and archiving of technical data.

• Maintain data quality through validation, reconciliation, metadata management and periodic quality-control reviews.

• Administer or support technical data repositories, databases and applications used by subsurface teams.

• Control data access and support compliance with information-security, confidentiality and data-retention requirements.

• Coordinate receipt, transfer and delivery of technical data to/from partners, regulators, contractors and service companies.

• Support data migration, system upgrades, application integration and digital-transformation initiatives.

• Maintain audit trails and ensure technical data is traceable, recoverable and available for regulatory and assurance reviews.

• Provide user support, training and guidance on technical data-management processes and systems.

• Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Geoscience, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in technical data management, preferably within upstream oil and gas.

• Relevant data-management, information-governance or technical application certification is an added advantage.
