Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Data Management Engineer to support the technical implementation, enhancement, and ongoing operations of Enterprise Data Management solutions within a Databricks environment.

While this individual will work across Data Quality, Data Catalog, Reference Data Management, Metadata, and Data Governance initiatives, the primary value of the role is technical execution within Databricks. This is not a platform administration or primarily governance-focused position.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable developing and troubleshooting Databricks solutions, working within established architecture and governance standards, supporting CI/CD and deployment processes, and coordinating work with a small offshore development team. This person should be technically curious, able to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and comfortable taking ownership from development through production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Databricks Development & Support

• Develop and maintain Databricks-based Enterprise Data Management solutions

• Create SQL-based datasets, tables, views, and transformations

• Develop and maintain Databricks notebooks using SQL and Python

• Support reference data, metadata, and data quality solutions

• Develop and maintain Streamlit applications supporting reference data initiatives

• Work with Unity Catalog assets, metadata, lineage, and governance processes

• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions

• Support dashboards, reporting, and analytical data assets

• Monitor solution performance and recommend improvements

• Perform enhancement work and ongoing operational support

• Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Databricks development and support experience

• Strong SQL development skills

• Python development experience

• Experience developing and maintaining Databricks notebooks

• Experience creating and maintaining tables, views, datasets, and transformations

• Experience with GitHub or similar source-control repositories

• Understanding of Git branching, merging, pull requests, and code review

• CI/CD and automated deployment experience

• Understanding of software development lifecycle and release management practices

• Experience troubleshooting data solutions and supporting production environments

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Strong communication skills across business and technical stakeholders

• Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables

• Experience coordinating or providing technical direction to offshore development resources

• Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on Databricks engineering skills with an understanding of Enterprise Data Management concepts. They do not need to be an expert in every area of EDM, but they should be comfortable moving between development, troubleshooting, deployments, data management initiatives, and offshore coordination.
