Vera Solutions Internship - Data Team

Position Overview

Vera is seeking a curious and analytical Intern to join our Data team. The intern will work on real-world data projects involving data preparation, analysis, visualization, and statistical modelling, while gaining exposure to data science and data engineering practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and preparation for analysis
• Perform exploratory data analysis and identify trends, patterns, and insights from datasets
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Super Set
• Support the development and evaluation of statistical and machine learning models
• Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from different sources
• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders
• Work with internal teams and clients across different data and business use cases
• Complete assigned tasks and provide regular updates on progress

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent field (no experience required)

• Strong fundamentals in Python and SQL

• Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Able to commit to a 1 year internship

• Desirable

• Hands-on experience with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Superset)

• Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn

• Understanding of machine learning and statistical modelling

• Exposure to data engineering, ETL/ELT, APIs, or cloud platforms

• Experience working on academic, personal, or internship projects involving real-world datasets

• Compensation & Benefits

• A modest stipend will be provided to help offset cost of living and commuting expenses (if applicable).

• PTO days are prorated in accordance with your internship agreement and includes local and company-wide holidays.
