What’s the role The Intern will support the U.S. Direct Tax team in building a structured and governed Tax Data Landscape across Federal and State processes. This role will focus on documenting ongoing tax data flows to prepare for advanced analytics and AI/GenAI applications, forming a critical part of Shell’s Digital Finance and Tax transformation agenda.
What you’ll be doing
- Identify and document tax-relevant data sources across enterprise systems (SAP, tax tools, data platforms, Excel-based models).
- Document and develop Tax Data Inventory and review metadata repository.
- Map end-to-end data lineage and flows (ERP → adjustments → provision → filings).
- Create process maps and data flow diagrams for key tax adjustments and processes.
- Support the development of a standardized Tax Data Model and taxonomy.
