About the role
The Data Engineer is a self-directed individual contributor who exists to improve how data and the platform work at scale. They build, maintain, and evolve data pipelines, firm-wide datasets, and lightweight web applications within a fully coded, infrastructure-as-code platform, applying strong software engineering practices to ensure quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of both code and data. You’ll operate at the intersection of data, engineering, and stakeholders, using AI as a force multiplier to work more autonomously and deliver faster in a fast-changing environment.
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (or a comparable data/analytics platform), building and maintaining data pipelines and datasets.
- Software engineering mindset (git flow, CI/CD, pull request reviews)
- Infrastructure as code
- Development of lightweight or web-based applications
- Solid data engineering fundamentals
- AI fluency to augment and accelerate work
- Proactive, self-directed ownership
- Clear communication and stakeholder alignment
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast ramp-up
- Excellent written and verbal English
Nice to have
- Computer science or software engineering background
- Using AI to query data and code and troubleshoot pipelines and CI/CD
- Data lifecycle management
- Proficiency in other languages
