About the Role Slalom's Google COE Data Engineer role in Toronto, Canada. You will design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in collaboration with clients, delivering scalable data solutions and AI-ready foundations. What You'll Do
- Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on GCP using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services.
- Migrate and modernize data estates, implement real-time and batch pipelines, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations.
- Participate in design sessions and deliver assigned development items on project backlogs; work in a hybrid environment and be commutable to Slalom office locations. What We're Looking For
- Passion for Google Cloud and modern data engineering; hands-on delivery, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Experience with Big Data platforms (Dataproc, Apache Spark), BigQuery/BigLake, Cloud SQL; programming in Python, Java, SQL.
- Familiarity with Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB; GKE, Cloud Run; Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka; Airflow, dbt, Dataplex.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to design scalable, secure, cloud-native data solutions; Jira/Agile practices. Nice to Have

- Base salary range: $100k-$110k annually; potential for an 8% discretionary bonus based on performance.
