Data Engineer

About the Role Data Engineer within Slalom's Google COE focused on building and modernizing data platforms on Google Cloud Platform. You’ll design and deliver scalable batch and real-time pipelines, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations for clients. What You'll Do

• Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deliver solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services.
• Help clients migrate and modernize data estates, implement real-time and batch pipelines, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations.
• Be engaged in design sessions and responsible for timely completion of development items in a project backlog.
• Work in a hybrid environment, with expectation to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed, and be commutable to one of Slalom's listed office locations. What We're Looking For
• Passion for Google Cloud and modern data engineering; hands-on delivery, certifications, and collaboration across the Google COE.
• Enjoy solving complex data challenges and building scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with Big Data Platforms (Dataproc, Apache Spark); Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, BigLake, Cloud SQL.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL; databases such as Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB.
• Experience with GKE, Cloud Run; Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Managed Airflow, dbt, Dataplex. Nice to Have

• The base salary pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
