Job title: Data Engineer

About the Role Data Engineer with experience in advanced data environments to join a strategic cyber defense project. You will design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and work with data architectures to ensure quality and traceability across large datasets for defense-related European projects.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Implement ingestion, transformation and loading processes for large data volumes.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and traceability via automated validations.
• Manage and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
• Orchestrate data flows using Airflow, NiFi or Prefect.
• Monitor pipeline performance and optimize processing times.
• Work with various data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro, CSV).
• Collaborate with data architects, BI, analytics and AI teams.
• Document data flows, technical dependencies and implemented solutions.
• Participate in automation and CI/CD deployments of data pipelines.

What We're Looking For

• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Advanced SQL and ability to handle large data volumes.
• Programming in data-oriented languages (Python, Scala or Java).
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, NiFi or Prefect).
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of structured and semi-structured data formats.
• Experience with data quality controls and automated validations.

Nice to Have

• Big Data environments (Spark, Hadoop, Flink).
• Knowledge of Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Streaming data knowledge (Kafka, Kinesis or Pub/Sub).
• Containers and Kubernetes familiarity.
• Basic data governance and metadata knowledge.
• Formation in Big Data or Data Engineering (valorable).
• Degree in Informatics, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar (valorable).
• English level B2 (C1 valuable).

Formation & English

• Grado en Informática, Ingeniería de Software, Matemáticas, Estadística o similar (valorable)
• Formación específica en Big Data o Ingeniería de Datos (valorable)
• Nivel de inglés mínimo B2 (C1 valorable)
