About the Role A Data Director at Valtech leads enterprise-scale data transformation and AI initiatives, shaping future-state data ecosystems and modernising cloud platforms. You’ll work with C-suite stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable data and tech solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. You’ll stay close to delivery while guiding strategy and operating models across client teams.
What You'll Do
- Define future-state data ecosystems and modernise cloud and data platforms to unlock AI opportunities.
- Lead enterprise-scale data transformation or AI programmes, balancing strategic advisory with practical delivery.
- Shape data strategy, operating models and roadmaps; guide clients through large-scale change.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, designers and product teams to turn vision into reality and ensure measurable outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and contribute to new business development, including mentoring consultants and engineers.
- Navigate ambiguity, bringing structure to complex challenges and aligning stakeholders around a clear path forward.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data transformation or AI programmes.
- Strong consulting background operating in complex client environments.
- Experience shaping modern data strategies, architectures and operating models.
- Deep understanding of cloud data ecosystems across GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP experience essential).
- Experience working with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric or equivalent.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including experience engaging senior leadership audiences.
- Hands-on technical credibility across data engineering, analytics, AI or architecture disciplines.
- Experience balancing strategic advisory with practical delivery leadership.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure to evolving transformation programmes.
- Strong systems thinking, connecting business goals, technology, operations and data.
- Commercial awareness, including experience contributing to proposals, pre-sales or account growth.
- Experience working within agile, cross-functional delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and pragmatic mindset focused on measurable outcomes.
