Job title: Data Center Operations Engineer
About the Role The Data Center Operations Engineer plays a critical, hands-on role in deploying and sustaining a high-performance enterprise data center environment. The role bridges IT infrastructure and critical facilities to ensure reliability, performance, and resilience of compute, network, power, and cooling systems, from greenfield deployments through steady-state operations. You’ll collaborate with site leadership and global teams to build a durable, scalable infrastructure program.
What You'll Do
- Ensure reliability and performance of the data center infrastructure covering compute, network, electrical, and cooling systems.
- Participate in hardware installation, structured cabling, and troubleshooting network layers 1-3.
- Collaborate with colocation providers to review MOP (Method of Procedure) and EOP (Emergency Operating Procedure), validate redundancy mechanisms, and supervise maintenance activities.
- Operate critical infrastructure systems including UPS, PDU, electrical panels, generators, CRAC/CRAH, CDU, chillers, and cooling towers.
- Contribute to capacity planning, load balancing, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Lead incident management and perform root cause analyses of infrastructure events.
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures (SOP) to increase consistency and efficiency.
- Implement automation solutions and tooling to optimize operations.

- Ability to work closely with site leadership; act as a technical resource and escalation point in a globally connected environment.
- Experience guiding deployment-to-operations transitions and driving reliability and performance of critical systems.
- Strong collaboration with IT teams, technical staff, and suppliers; capable of operating across functions in a global context.
- Aptitude for developing and enforcing SOPs and introducing automation to improve efficiency.
