Data Center Cluster – Offer Engineering

Business Area: Grid Technologies – Transformers

A Snapshot of Your Day

As part of Siemens Energy's Grid Technologies Transformers business, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technical solutions for our global Data Center Cluster (DCC). Working within a newly established virtual organisation, you will help create a coordinated, efficient and customer-focused approach to supporting the rapidly growing global data centre market.

You will lead technical offer engineering activities, drive standardisation across transformer solutions and collaborate with our global PC2+ factory network to optimise manufacturing capabilities and capacity utilisation. Acting as a key technical authority, you will ensure consistent design principles, technical feasibility and alignment across multiple manufacturing locations.

Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement and factory leadership, you will contribute to the development of competitive, scalable and technically robust solutions that support our customers' evolving requirements and Siemens Energy's growth ambitions.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead Technical Offer Engineering: Take ownership of functional specifications, solution architectures, transformer footprints, connection points and critical design requirements for Data Center Cluster solutions.
  • Drive Technical Standardisation: Develop and maintain approved design families, configuration rules and standardised technical solutions, minimising unnecessary variation and enabling consistent execution across projects and manufacturing locations.
  • Provide Technical Governance: Act as the technical design authority during pre-bid and bidding phases, overseeing feasibility assessments, technical risk evaluations and the management of design deviations.
  • Optimise Global Factory Collaboration: Work closely with Network Loading and factory engineering teams to assess manufacturing capabilities, validate technical feasibility and support effective allocation of production capacity across the PC2+ network.
  • Resolve Complex Technical Challenges: Lead technical escalations where factory capabilities or manufacturing constraints impact the delivery of approved transformer solutions, identifying practical alternatives while maintaining design integrity.
  • Enhance Factory Capability Transparency: Establish a clear understanding of manufacturing capabilities, technical limitations and production requirements across the global factory network to support efficient slot utilisation and order allocation.
  • Strengthen Customer and Commercial Partnerships: Act as a central technical advisor to Sales and global data centre key accounts, translating complex customer requirements into competitive and technically viable solutions.
  • Support Commercial Decision-Making: Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure technical proposals, design deviations, project risks and delivery requirements are fully evaluated before contractual commitments are made.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Quality and manufacturing teams to define technical complexity, qualification requirements and critical supply specifications, supporting consistent execution across the global network.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Extensive professional experience in transformer engineering, technical offer management, engineering design or technical sales within the energy, power transmission or grid technologies sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power transformer design, applications, functional specifications and associated engineering standards.
  • Experience developing technical bids, evaluating engineering feasibility and translating complex customer requirements into competitive technical solutions.
  • Understanding of data centre power infrastructure and its associated transformer requirements would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience coordinating technical activities across multiple manufacturing locations or within complex international engineering organisations.
  • Strong understanding of standardisation, modularisation and design optimisation principles, with the ability to balance technical requirements, manufacturability and commercial considerations.
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturing teams on production capabilities, capacity constraints and technical execution requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and commercial decisions across global matrix organisations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with a structured, results-oriented and collaborative approach.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or IPMA certification would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams and customer organisations.
