About the Role The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) invites unemployed youth to apply for an entry-level Data Capturer role. This position focuses on capturing data from records into approved formats, maintaining accurate registers, and supporting judiciary operations by ensuring data is complete, secure, and accessible. What You'll Do
- Capture data from records into required formats (databases, tables, spreadsheets).
- Verify missing data and correct errors observed during data entry; review and validate data.
- Submit data and perform regular backups; update registers and statistics.
- Keep and maintain records and files; ensure records are properly sorted and secured.
- Provide information to components and assist verification personnel with data sources and files.
- Collect applications for default judgment and taxation; collect correspondence; distribute files to Registrars.
- Provide additional support as required by the judiciary, Court Manager and/or supervisor.
- Attend to Attorneys' queries regarding quasi-judicial matters.
- Open, sort and distribute incoming data to be captured; review data and update registers and statistics. What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 certificate (no experience required).
- Diploma/ Degree will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's license will serve as an added advantage.
- Knowledge of clerical duties and data capture; Batho Pele principles; working procedures; effective written and verbal communication; interpersonal skills; computer literacy; customer service; planning and organizing; problem solving; analytical and numeric skills; be flexible, motivated, able to work under pressure; meticulous and self-driven. Nice to Have
- Diploma / Degree qualification is advantageous. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: R237 453 – R279 708 per annum (Level 05).
