About this role

About the Role The Data and Information Systems Specialist will support Millsaps College’s fundraising, alumni and donor stewardship efforts by collecting, entering, managing, analyzing and reporting information. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Information Systems, this full-time, on-site role is central to effective advancement operations in Jackson, Mississippi. What You'll Do

  • Record and enter data into databases and management systems (manual or electronic).
  • Execute data acquisition projects and monitor data integrity for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Conduct audits/validation checks to identify and fix gaps; train and oversee student staff.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and collaborate with Advancement Staff and Business Office.
  • Generate reports and assist with data transfers between platforms.
  • Process gifts and pledges, maintain gift records, produce receipts within 48 hours, and respond to donor inquiries.
  • Produce daily and monthly gift reports, assist with deposits, reconcile discrepancies, and administer matching gift programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of CASE, IRS substantiation regulations and FASB standards; help develop and maintain gift processing standards manual.
  • Support donor communications, campaign updates, and fund account development as needed. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 1-2 years in data entry, auditing, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience or familiarity with fundraising, accounting, banking, finance and/or customer service preferred.
  • Quick learner with strong MS Office (Word, Excel); excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills; detail-oriented; initiative and sound judgment.
  • High ethical standards; ability to handle confidential information; able to work independently and in a team. Nice to Have
  • Experience in donor relations or advancement operations; familiarity with CASE standards. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary not disclosed; on-site, full-time with hours 8:00am–4:30pm and occasional evenings/weekends for major events.
