About the Role
Amazon Japan's logistics planning team seeks a Data Analyst for Third Party Carrier Procurement to drive cost visibility, optimization, and strategic projects across trunk transport. The role collaborates with internal business planning/execution, systems development, and finance, and with carriers/3PL partners to sustain and grow Amazon's trunk transportation network. What You'll Do

Analyze trunk transportation cost structures and provide weekly cost-change reporting; develop hypotheses, test with data, and implement actions to reduce costs.

Optimize trunk transportation costs based on procurement methods; quantify fixed and variable costs (vehicle, labor, fuel) and negotiate with carriers for cost reductions as needed.

Lead or participate in projects to launch new transportation hubs or services; coordinate requirements across departments, manage timelines, and perform hands-on cost analysis and startup management.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support ongoing improvements of trunk transportation operations and act as project lead where needed. What We're Looking For

3+ years defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics.

3+ years working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.

3+ years of program or project management experience.

2+ years of supply chain experience.

Bachelor's degree.

Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and SQL. Nice to Have

3+ years driving process improvements.

Experience in stakeholder management with multiple levels of the organization.

Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.

Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company or ability to complete complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and respond with urgency.
