Job title: Data Analyst – Procurement & Sourcing Analytics
About the Role The Senior Data Analyst – Procurement & Sourcing Analytics will join Owens & Minor's analytics COE to turn procurement data into actionable insights. The role spans the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and cleansing to building dashboards, automating reporting pipelines, and delivering strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate understands procurement and sourcing concepts and collaborates with category managers and sourcing leads.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows for structured and semi-structured procurement data.
- Perform data profiling, deduplication, normalization, and transformation to ensure data integrity across sources.
- Write complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures) to extract and analyze large datasets.
- Use Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn) for data wrangling, analysis, automation, and visualization.
- Build advanced Excel models (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, array formulas, VBA) and automate transformations in Power Query (M).
- Develop interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and spend reports using Power BI (DAX) or Tableau.
- Deliver ad-hoc analyses, variance reports, trend identification, and regular leadership-level summaries.
- Collaborate with procurement category managers and sourcing leads; translate data into clear recommendations.
- Work with procurement data from ERP and P2P systems (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa) covering PR, PO, GRN, and invoice workflows.
- Track and report supply chain KPIs (on-time delivery, lead times, vendor scorecards, budget vs actuals).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or master's degree.
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, BI, or reporting.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Advanced Excel/Power Query, and at least one BI tool (Power BI or Tableau).
- Experience working with procurement, supply chain, or commercial datasets is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to ERP or P2P platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa) is an advantage.
- Strong attention to data accuracy and quality; methodical validation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player; builds strong cross-functional relationships.
- Genuine curiosity for understanding business context behind data.
- Training: Micros (nice to have).
