Cybersecurity Specialist

About the Role Cybersecurity Specialist on-site in Manchester, responsible for vulnerability and threat management and serving as security decision-maker for the local office. You will balance strong hands-on IT support with strategic security leadership, coordinating with a wider cybersecurity team across time zones. What You'll Do

• Drive our vulnerability management program end to end: run scans across systems, networks, and applications, prioritize by risk, and track remediation through to closure.
• Research emerging threats relevant to our environment and translate threat intelligence into actionable guidance on what to patch, watch, or harden next.
• Lead response to security alerts: triage, contain, coordinate with the wider cybersecurity team, and document post-incident reviews.
• Keep the Manchester office running day to day as sole on-site IT support: hardware/software issues, accounts/access, onboarding, and user assistance.
• Take your turn on the on-call rota to respond to critical issues outside office hours. What We're Looking For
• A cybersecurity professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience, strong focus on vulnerability and threat research/management.
• Ability to work independently on-site in Manchester with good judgement on escalation, calm under pressure, and incident handling.
• Solid all-round IT support skills across Windows environments, networking, and common business tools.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, and SIEM; awareness of UK data protection requirements and frameworks such as Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001 is a welcome bonus.
• Comfortable joining an on-call rota and collaborating across time zones.
• Eligibility to apply for NPPV3 (Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and Security Check clearance; offer conditional on successfully obtaining the required clearances; typically requires a minimum of 5 years' UK residency. Nice to Have

• Salary £50,000 – £70,000 per year, depending on experience.
