About the Role The MIL Corporation seeks a Cyber Security Vulnerability Researcher, Advanced to support the Naval Aviation Red Team. Based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD, this on-site role (5 days on-site with potential for Compressed Work Schedule) focuses on security engineering, vulnerability research, and risk analysis for naval aviation systems. A Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
What You'll Do
- Conduct fundamental research in computer and information science as theorists, designers, or inventors.
- Research cyber threats, adversarial tools, techniques, and mitigation solutions.
- Develop solutions focusing on system security and vulnerability across hardware and software.
- Perform technology and people/operations risk and vulnerability assessments across local computing environments, networks, enclaves, infrastructure, and applications.
- Analyze security of applications and provide actionable results.
- Conduct risk analysis for major changes to applications or systems.
- Identify issues and vulnerabilities in operational program development and implementation.
- Travel up to 10% to other sites, as required.
What We're Looking For
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Qualifications aligned with one or more DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) roles—111, 221, 461, 511, 531, 541, 612, or 622—within 30 days of contract start.
- Ability to interact with clients and project sponsors; strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
- Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. A related Master's or advanced certifications may be considered in lieu of required experience.
- Desirable certifications or experience as noted (e.g., DCWF-acceptable certifications).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of adversarial threat representation, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Knowledge of naval aviation acquisition programs.
- Certification in Microsoft or Linux OS.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $130,000–$193,000 per year.
