Customs and Trade Innovator

About the Role BMW Group's international customs team is seeking a Customs and Trade Innovator in Debrecen to drive innovation, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable ESG and digital transformation across the supply chain. You will serve as the interface between customs/trade/ESG regulations and IT systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring young professionals.

What You'll Do

• Spearhead customs trade innovation initiatives, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes.
• Analyze Big Data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in customs operations.
• Interface between customs, trade, ESG regulations and IT systems and processes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with university partners to facilitate student internships and research collaborations.
• Mentor and guide young professionals, leveraging their fresh perspectives and energy.

What We're Looking For

• Educational background: Degree in Economics, International Trade or related field, Law, Computer Science or comparable qualification.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new areas of responsibility and quickly acquire new knowledge to apply in practice.
• Ability to present complex topics across hierarchies in a simple and understandable way.
• Courage to bring forward your own ideas.
• Passion for innovation and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Strong project management skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to take ownership and work autonomously.
• Excellent English communication; German language skills are a plus.
• Customs and trade technical qualifications are not required but would be advantageous.

• Experience in a multinational, cross-functional environment.
• Knowledge of ESG regulations.
