About this role

About the Role JAS is seeking a Customer Service professional to be the primary contact for customers, intercept shipping orders, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate, timely responses and successful shipments. The role focuses on order processing, data accuracy, and driving growth in volumes and gross profit while supporting cross-selling initiatives within a global logistics environment.

What You'll Do

  • Process orders for shipment received from customers or foreign JAS offices.
  • Compile, sort and verify data to be entered.
  • Examine records such as bills of lading and related documents; inform customers of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays and any additional information needed.
  • Submit into the system total cost for customer; record or file copy of orders received as requested.
  • Drive better overall sales and marketing intelligence/insight into target accounts; acquire new traffics import/export and additionally local services; post landing, customs clearance and spot business opportunities.
  • Drive new revenue streams through better execution on their marketing & lead generation campaigns and programs into the target assigned, and take marketing operational costs out of the business to improve ROI.
  • Confer with operations clerk to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Compile statistics and prepares accuracy data or metrics about their target.
  • Investigates overdue and damaged shipments or shortages in shipments for customers and/or air and ocean carriers.
  • Analyzes complaints concerning billing or service rendered; refers complaints of service failures to designated departments; updates customers in a timely manner.
  • Provides back up support for all accounts included in their target.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Excel and operational systems.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  • Cross selling capabilities.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Follow-up on pending issues and orders.
  • Able to effectively solve problems.
  • Able to establish priorities and multi task.
  • English advanced.

Environment

  • 100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment, working under normal office conditions.
  • The duties require sitting, standing, walking; using hands and fingers to feel and handle; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing. May require occasional stooping, kneeling and crouching; lifting up to 25 pounds.
