Job Title: Customer Service Exports
Job Type: Contract , Full Time Qualification: Diploma Experience: 2 years Location: Nairobi Job Field: Customer Care, Success and Service
Job Purpose:
- To coordinate export bookings, documentation, and shipment activities while ensuring accurate documentation, timely cargo movement, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service throughout the export process.
Responsibilities
- Handle export bookings and submit Shipping Instructions (SI) to shipping lines within stipulated timelines.
- Coordinate cargo collection, customs declarations, and clearance with clearing agents.
- Prepare and verify draft Bills of Lading (B/L) for customer approval.
- Coordinate shipment arrangements with transporters, clearing agents, shipping lines, and overseas agents.
- Track export shipments and monitor vessel schedules and cargo status.
- Ensure accurate and timely customer communication throughout the export process.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide regular shipment updates.
- Ensure export documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding/ Diploma in Customs Administration or related
- At least 2 years’ experience in export documentation, freight forwarding, or customer service within the Clearing and Forwarding industry.
- Knowledge of export documentation, Shipping Instructions, Bills of Lading, and customs clearance procedures.
- Familiarity with shipping line portals, cargo tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, coordination, and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
