About the Role The Customer Service Coordinator in Student Financial Services is a frontline professional in a fast-paced, student-focused environment. You will greet guests, triage issues, create tickets, route students and families to the appropriate counselor, and maintain the SFS email and phone systems to ensure a positive customer experience from initial contact through resolution. What You'll Do
- Provide timely, courteous, and professional front-facing customer service to SFS visitors, prospective and current students, and their families or support networks; ensure a positive customer experience from initial contact through resolution or appropriate referral.
- Analyze and process financial aid to determine eligibility and awards in accordance with federal, state, donor and institutional guidelines; request additional information when necessary.
- Manage SFS email and phone inquiries, respond promptly, and route concerns to the appropriate team member.
- Access student account information using Slate, Banner, and other systems provided by the University; address questions about financial aid programs and eligibility.
- Resolve financial aid and student account issues received through various channels (email, texts, phone); create and issue ID cards and parking decals per established practices.
- Accept and handle payments, issuing receipts in line with established protocols; represent the University at on- or off-campus events; adhere to FERPA policies.
- Collaborate with other divisions and departments to enhance the student experience; participate in recruitment events and related tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in an Admissions or Financial Aid office or related higher education environment.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and campus partners.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree; experience using Slate and/or Ellucian Banner; proficiency in Spanish.
- This is an on-site role requiring regular on-campus work, with some flexibility to work beyond regularly scheduled hours for events (open houses, orientations, etc.). Nice to Have
