About the Role The Customer Service Associate I (CSA I) at People's Bank of Commerce is an entry-level teller role designed to provide foundational training and experience in banking operations. Under direct supervision, the role focuses on processing basic teller transactions, assisting customers, and ensuring accuracy and compliance as the bank supports community customers. This position offers growth toward CSA II as you develop skills and responsibility.

What You'll Do

  • Provide prompt, friendly customer service in line with bank standards and respond to incoming calls, email, and voicemail with professional communication.
  • Process basic teller transactions under direct supervision, including deposits, withdrawals, receipts, and recordkeeping; balance teller cash drawer daily.
  • Support routine checking and savings transactions with proper signatures and guidelines; issue receipts and verify transaction accuracy.
  • Learn and apply compliance, risk, and fraud prevention practices; escalate issues to supervisors as needed and follow identity verification procedures.
  • Refer non-standard questions or requests to a supervisor and work with teammates to expand product knowledge.
  • Maintain security of cash drawer, keys, and negotiable items; ensure work areas are clean and organized at day end.
  • Develop product knowledge and documentation skills, including reading disclosures and applying bank policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Entry-level teller with emphasis on cash handling accuracy, basic math aptitude, attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to follow procedures, escalate concerns appropriately, and work under direct supervision in a structured training environment.
  • Prior cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills; willingness to learn and grow within the role.
