About the Role
Join BC Hydro’s customer service team as a Customer Service Accounts Representative, supporting customers across British Columbia from one of two renovated spaces in Vancouver or Vernon. You’ll be part of a supportive, unionized contact centre focused on empathy, attentive listening, and first‑call resolution, helping customers with bills, power infrastructure information, and safety messages. The role includes six weeks of paid training and ongoing coaching in a values‑driven environment.
What You'll Do
- Interact with 50 to 100 customers per day in a busy contact centre
- Address inquiries related to billing, infrastructure, safety and service options
- Demonstrate high empathy and attentive listening to understand customer concerns
- Deliver first-call resolution and maintain high customer satisfaction
- Participate in six weeks of paid training and ongoing coaching; collaborate with a supportive team
- Be available to work within centre hours (7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Mon–Fri; 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Sat)
- Work at BC Hydro’s Vancouver or Vernon facilities and contribute to a positive team culture
What We're Looking For
- A high level of empathy and attentive listening
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage 50–100 customer interactions per day in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in a unionized MoveUP environment
- Willingness to participate in six weeks of paid training and ongoing coaching
- Flexible, customer‑focused, and a team player
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Start at $18.96/hour; total $22.29/hour when including 17.58% in lieu of benefits and paid time off
