About the Role Accenture is seeking a Custom Software Engineering Manager to design, develop, and test custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications in Chicago. The role involves architecting development strategies, coordinating delivery milestones, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful design, deployment, and validation of software solutions. What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and test custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.
  • Create implementation or integration approach for applications and components.
  • Design and code applications in line with programming standards and interface specifications.
  • Architect development strategy for applications and components.
  • Coordinate development streams in line with overall program timing and milestones.
  • Build deployment plan, including the development plan and schedule, keeping in line with overall project timeline.
  • Design, build, assemble, and configure application or technical architecture components using business requirements.
  • Team with stakeholders on application and component design to secure buy in.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. What We're Looking For
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate IT consulting experience.
  • 5 years of experience in each of the following: designing, developing, and supporting front-end web applications, RESTful APIs, and database components adhering to SDLC best practices; utilizing DevOps and Agile methodology; coding and deploying applications utilizing DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Maven); developing and maintaining applications with Java EE, jQuery, Spring Boot, Microservices, JavaScript, and JSON; working with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2); driving delivery orchestration design decisions; creating technical designs for multi-tiered web applications; cloud-native development with AWS.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time. Compensation & Benefits
