Job title: Custom Furnace Systems Engineer
About the Role MRF designs and builds custom high-temperature vacuum or controlled-atmosphere furnaces and custom chambers for integration with other equipment. This role focuses on collaborating with customers and suppliers to design, build, and commission turnkey furnace systems for research and production.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to design and build custom furnace systems and chambers
- Assist with integration of vacuum/inert gas systems, temperature control, optical pyrometry, and instrumentation
- Support testing, commissioning, and operation of turnkey systems, including system documentation and test frames
- Help with installation and on-site commissioning as needed
What We're Looking For
- Interest in high-temperature furnace technology and custom engineering
- Ability to read and interpret complex system specifications and requirement trade-offs
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with customers and suppliers
- Familiarity with heating elements, vacuum systems, and control instrumentation is a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience with LabVIEW, optical pyrometry, vacuum equipment or related instrumentation
- Background in materials processing, semiconductors, or research applications
- Experience with turnkey, multi-system integrations
