About the Role The custodial position ensures campus spaces are maintained safe and clean for students, staff, and guests. Roles support academic operations, student life, and events across academic and residential buildings.
What You'll Do
- Unlock/lock buildings and turn on/off lights
- Sweep, mop, vacuum floors
- Empty trash and dispose of waste
- Clean glass and dust surfaces
- Disinfect fixtures and perform routine cleaning tasks
- Annual deep cleaning and floor care
- Assist with setup for campus events
- Snow removal and maintaining outside entrances year round
- Recycling duties; clean restroom and show-room facilities
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma and/or equivalent preferred but not required
- 1 year direct experience in custodial work
- Detail oriented with good time management and organizational skills
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate
- Proven ability to work with others
- Ability to read instructions, mix appropriate chemical dilution ratios, and understand directions for use
- Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college
- Physical ability: mobility to walk/stand for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; capability to reach and bend as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
