About the Role As a Custodial Team Member at the Greater Austin YMCA, you will help maintain the appearance and cleanliness of our facilities through daily custodial and maintenance support. You will help keep spaces spotless and guest-ready, contributing to a positive experience for members and guests. This part-time onsite role offers flexibility with up to 28 hours per week. What You'll Do
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming center by completing custodial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, and cleaning ceiling vents.
- Stock supplies and ensure designated supply areas stay fully stocked with paper towels, soap, sanitizer, and other custodial items.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles and maintain custodial storage areas in a clean, organized manner.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance checks to support upkeep and functionality.
- Communicate facility maintenance needs to center leadership and provide recommended solutions when appropriate.
- Demonstrate and model the YMCA’s mission, values, and culture; positively represent the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- 18 years old and a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
- Team player; works collaboratively to support a positive team environment.
- Effective communication: listens actively.
- Custodial or maintenance experience is a plus but not required. Nice to Have
- Prior custodial/maintenance experience is a plus (optional). Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $15-$16 per hour.
- Work arrangement: onsite, part-time position at Greater Austin YMCA in Austin, TX.
