CT Scan Technologist

About the Role Under the direction of the CT/X-Ray Manager, CT/X-Ray Supervisor, and CT Clinical Director, the CT technologist is responsible for performing all technical procedures within CT as described in the DFCI Imaging Policy Manual. The CT technologist delivers safe and effective imaging, participates in QA/QI activities, and collaborates with Imaging, nursing, and clinical staff to support cancer care and research. What You'll Do

• Perform all technical CT procedures, obtain high-quality patient scans, and ensure equipment operates to accepted standards.
• Establish intravenous access and administer imaging contrast agents per protocol under radiologist supervision.
• Maintain QA/QI records, perform routine quality control, troubleshoot imaging systems, and manage imaging datasets (transfer, archive, retrieval).
• Assist with patient flow, monitor patients, and document in EMR/scheduling systems; ensure patient understanding of procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Participate in departmental education programs and quality improvement initiatives; support research protocols as required.
• Maintain infection control, radiation safety practices (Image Gently/Image Wisely), and overall safety of patients and staff.
• Collaborate with imaging professionals, nursing, providers, and investigators to promote excellence and cancer care. What We're Looking For
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work with peers, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook; strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to perform CT procedures, follow regulatory accreditation standards (e.g., ACR), and maintain documentation.
• Capacity to work part-time with a weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday, 8-hour shifts, every other weekend). Nice to Have
• Experience with departmental research protocols or imaging research. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: USD 109,096.00 - 129,594.40 per year. Sign-On Incentive for External Hires Only.
