Job Summary
Student will work with task supervisor and as a team member in the Children’s Relief Nursery Therapeutic Classroom as a reading tutor specialist with preschool-age children and their families. The student will read to groups of children and one on one.
Reports on-site to EC Specialists and on-campus to Moreau Center Program Manager, Mashaal Shameem.
Location: 8425 N. Lombard St, Portland OR 97203 (2.2 miles from campus)
Core Duties
- Read to preschool-age children
- Follow all orientation requirements for internship i.e. Office of Childcare
- Follow Task Supervisors instructions in the Therapeutic Classroom
- Other reading tutor relevant duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have Federal Work Study Funds in Financial Aid package
- Have availability 2 days a week M-Th 8:30am-1:00pm
Preferred Qualifications
- Early childhood experience of interest in the field
- Experience reading with children
- Social work experience or interest in the field
Physical Requirements
- Be able to lift at least 50lbs (a young child)
