  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end order-to-cash cycle, ensuring accurate billing, effective credit control and collections, sound credit risk management, customer reconciliations and compliance with Kenyan tax requirements. The role will play a key part in protecting the company’s working capital and cash flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer billing and invoicing, ensuring accurate and timely invoices based on contracts, LPOs, delivery notes, milestones and approved variations.

  • Drive debt collection and manage the debtors’ ageing to achieve monthly collection targets.

  • Assess customer creditworthiness, recommend credit limits and payment terms, and monitor customer exposure.

  • Perform customer account reconciliations and ensure accurate allocation of all customer receipts.

  • Track retentions, advance payments, guarantees, contract variations and certified project values.

  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax requirements, including VAT, eTIMS, withholding VAT, withholding tax and iTax.

  • Prepare debtors’ ageing, collections, DSO, cash-flow and other receivables reports for management.

  • Deputize for the Head of Finance during their absence and support month-end close, management accounts, budgeting and cash-flow forecasting.

  • Supervise junior finance staff and maintain effective finance controls, policies, procedures and segregation of duties.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation and following up audit findings.

  • Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax compliance, including VAT, eTIMS, withholding VAT, withholding tax and iTax.

  • Experience in broader finance functions, including month-end close, management accounts, cash-flow forecasting and statutory compliance.

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookups, reconciliations and reporting.

  • Good understanding of IFRS 15 and IFRS 9, with strong analytical, communication and organisational skills; experience in a project-based industry will be an added advantage.
