Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Control Officer to manage the organization’s credit processes, customer accounts, collections, and outstanding receivables.
  • The role will support effective credit risk management, minimize bad debts, and ensure timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Assess customers' creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits and payment terms.

  • Monitor customer accounts, outstanding balances, and overdue debts to ensure timely collection.

  • Develop and execute collection strategies, including payment negotiations and settlement arrangements.

  • Maintain professional relationships with customers while resolving credit and payment-related issues.

  • Prepare credit, collection, and receivables reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.

  • Maintain accurate credit documentation and customer account records.

  • Ensure credit control activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal controls.

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the credit control team to achieve collection and performance targets.

  • Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 year of relevant experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.

  • Strong experience in credit management, receivables, debt collection, and credit risk assessment.

  • MSc/MBA is an advantage.

  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent is required.

  • Strong knowledge of credit control, financial reporting, governance, risk, and internal controls.

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in relevant accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
