URGENT HIRING – CREDIT & RECOVERY TEAM LEAD

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State Salary: Competitive + Performance-Based Incentives Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Credit & Recovery Team Lead to oversee credit operations, loan portfolio management, collections, and recovery activities while leading and developing the Credit & Recovery team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the credit process from application and verification through approval, disbursement, and monitoring.
  • Review credit assessments and ensure proper documentation and compliance with lending policies.
  • Monitor loan portfolio quality, repayment performance, and credit risks.
  • Oversee collections and recovery activities for overdue and delinquent accounts.
  • Develop recovery strategies and ensure collection targets are achieved.
  • Negotiate repayment arrangements and escalate high-risk accounts when necessary.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate Credit and Recovery team members.
  • Set performance targets, monitor productivity, and provide regular feedback.
  • Prepare reports on disbursements, repayments, delinquency, recoveries, and portfolio performance.
  • Analyse portfolio trends and recommend measures to improve repayment and reduce loan losses.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation and maintenance of credit and recovery records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in credit, lending, collections, or loan recovery, preferably in financial services, fintech, or microfinance.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of credit assessment, loan monitoring, recovery, and credit risk.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and customer management skills.
  • Ability to work with targets and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant credit/financial tools.
