The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The OnBrand Creative Agency sits within GABM. We aspire to be the creative partner-of-choice to build seamless customer experiences for our Business Units, essential for driving results and unlocking value through deeper knowledge of our business powered by industry-defining creative excellence. We are focused on developing forward thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond. We are seeking a Creative Director, Copywriter.
As a Creative Director, Copywriter, your work will be held to the highest standards. You're an important member of a high-performance team and we're counting on your best effort on every assignment, every day building a culture of delivering transformative work. The Creative Director will report to the Group Creative Director.
Responsibilities
Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership/motivation and convey the vision and values of the agency
- Mentor creative team members, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
- Use strong conceptual skills and bring those concepts to life across a variety of continuously evolving communication channels
- Execute the work to the highest standards and craft
- Comprehend and develop work off of strategic briefs that is consistent with the Amex brand
- Execute across a wide array of channels including online video, websites, banners, social platforms, print, and more
- Lead presentations of creative work to a variety of internal stakeholders and marketing partners
- Bring proactive ideas that solve challenges and grow business
- Develop holistic and famous creative campaigns from start to finish
- Identify new opportunities and future trends
Qualifications
- 7+ years of concepting and copywriting experience within a creative agency environment
- Proven ability to concept new campaign copy in a variety of mediums
- Ability to understand marketing insights and strategies to translate into compelling advertising campaigns that are digital-first
- Ability to combine conceptual creative thinking with high-quality content delivery
- Captivating presentation skills
- Passionate about social media platforms, trends, technology and best practices
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- A "maker" mentality, be curious and not afraid to try new methods
- Strong conceptual skills
- Curiosity, eager to find new creative opportunities even if they aren’t assigned
- Experience managing/supervising Creative talent
- Industry awarded work preferred
