Job title: Course Organization and Materials Management (Work-Study)
About the Role
This is a remote, part-time Work-Study position supporting the School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy at Antioch University. The role focuses on course organization, materials management, resource development, scheduling, and student communications to ensure inclusive, navigable online courses.
What You'll Do
- Organize and maintain course resources, including readings, handouts, recorded materials, and supplementary documents.
- Assist with formatting and preparing course syllabi; upload/update syllabi to Brightspace; align Brightspace course page to reflect current syllabus; organize course modules within Brightspace to ensure a logical, navigable, and student-ready course structure each semester; create checklists and utilize Brightspace features to enhance student usability; focus on inclusive course design for equity and belonging.
- Research and Resource Development: identify current, relevant course resources (articles, book chapters, videos, case studies, and other materials); review and update existing resources each semester; prioritize materials that represent diverse perspectives and voices across culture, ethnicity, race, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, socioeconomic status, and other marginalized populations; assist in building and maintaining an organized resource library; present findings and suggested resources to the supervisor for review prior to inclusion.
- Scheduling and Deadline Management: attend weekly 1-hour supervision; schedule and coordinate appointments between the supervisor and enrolled students (office hours, individual check-ins, advising meetings); maintain and monitor the course calendar; proactively track upcoming deadlines and flag items requiring attention; send reminders and follow-up communications as directed to help ensure deadlines are met.
- Communication and Student Support: respond to general, non-clinical inquiries regarding course logistics, materials, and scheduling; route clinical, grading, or complex academic questions to the supervisor; assist with drafting course announcements and communications for supervisor review and approval.
- Confidentiality and Professional Standards: maintain strict confidentiality of all student records and information in accordance with FERPA and Antioch University policy; perform duties in a manner consistent with ethical standards of the counseling and therapy profession; assist with other course-related administrative tasks within the supervisor's official duties at Antioch University.
What We're Looking For
- Must be enrolled as a graduate student at Antioch University and demonstrate current eligibility for Federal Work-Study funding.
- Demonstrated personal or academic interest in issues related to sex, sexuality, gender identity, and relational diversity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with online platforms and remote work tools, including Zoom, email, and Brightspace.
- Comfortable working in a fully online/remote environment; reliable internet access required.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality in all interactions.
- Self-motivated and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Prior enrollment in or satisfactory completion of DMT 6480 (Introduction to Couples and Sex Therapy) and/or DMT 5180 (GSERD Diversity in Therapy), or equivalent coursework.
- Previous experience in an academic support, peer mentoring, or administrative role.
- Familiarity with GSERD affirming and sex-positive clinical frameworks.
- Experience formatting academic documents, syllabi, including Brightspace grade book and discussion board setup.
- Experience working with neurodivergence in the professional setting.
