Country Tax Manager - Mexico
Signify is seeking a Country Tax Manager in Huixquilucan, Mexico to lead tax compliance and planning for the group in North LATAM. This role requires working knowledge of Mexican tax law procedures, including IMMEX and related employee insourcing entities, and involves preparing tax returns, prepayments, and informative filings to ensure all Mexican entities are in compliance. You will also oversee tax accounting, deferred taxes, transfer pricing rules, and collaborate with external accounting firms to minimize liabilities while applying new tax law developments strategically.
Prepare annual tax returns, monthly tax prepayments and informative returns for third party review; ensure all Mexican legal entities are in compliance with filing obligations. Apply tax accounting and determination of deferred taxes; understand transfer pricing rules and related requirements. Prepare/review corporate tax reporting promptly; identify opportunities to improve the group's effective tax rate and ensure statutory compliance. Provide timely application of new tax law and accounting developments in a strategic manner. Work closely with outside accounting firms to minimize Signify's liabilities; assist on special projects affecting the North LATAM region upon request of Group Tax.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline. Master’s degree in Taxes is a plus. Public accounting experience. 8+ years experience in performing complex corporate tax and accounting work. Knowledge of business and corporate tax compliance as it relates to federal taxes and tax controversy work. Working knowledge of Mexican tax laws and procedures as well as experience liaising with tax authorities and GL/journal entries reconciliations. Proficiency with Office Programs, primarily Excel and PowerPoint; VAT Certification process experience; Electronic Accounting per Mexican Tax Authorities. Strong analytical skills with problem solving abilities. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
